Charities

The Club receives charity requests daily from many organizations and individuals.

Such is the demand for signed material and support for charitable causes it is, regrettably, impossible to fulfill every request. The Club has a central policy so as to provide clarity and ensure fairness.

The Club currently focuses on two charitable entities, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and SOS Children's Villages and both receive year-round support. We also continue to support local charities where possible, those in close proximity to the stadium and the training ground receiving priority.

Please note that in order for your charitable request to be considered, we must receive it at least two weeks prior to your event.

Details of our chosen charities can been seen below. Should you wish to make a donation, please contact charities@tottenhamhotspur.com.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOUNDATION

In early 2007, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, an independent charity to oversee the Club's work in the community, was launched.

The excellent work of our community scheme over the past eight years resulted in the achievement of charitable status, and the Foundation's aim of delivering 500,000 sporting opportunities to children and young people in and around north London underlined the extend of the department's ambition.

Launched with significant funding from the Club itself and with the high-profile backing of the then Prime Minister Tony Blair MP, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has already established itself as one of the most ambitious football community projects in the country.

SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES

The Club’s long-term international charity commitment is a partnership with SOS Children’s Villages International, the world's largest orphan and abandoned children charity. SOS’ main role is to help children whose parents are not there for them.

In early 2007, the Club announced a novel four-year partnership with the charity. Using monies received from players’ fines, the Club funded the construction of a house in Rustenberg South Africa. The Club will continue to fund the house as well as supporting SOS’ community development projects around the world.

The Rustenburg project represents a new approach in creating an ideal environment in which orphaned and abandoned children can be cared for.

Using the philosophy, Solid, Modest and Integrated, the children are housed in a regular community, with an appointed mother, a home in a regular street, and attend local schools.

The huge benefit of this approach is that the children are not separately identified as orphans and do not require re-integration when they are old enough to leave the care of SOS. They enjoy a normal childhood in a loving, supportive environment made possible by this extraordinary organisation with which your Club is proud to be associated.

LET’S KICK RACISM OUT OF FOOTBALL

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club does not tolerate discrimination in any form at the Club, on the pitch or in the stands. As such, we take part in a number of anti-racism initiatives each season. Together with the rest of the football community, we proudly participate in a week of action in partnership with Kick Racism out of Football, aimed at eliminating racism from the game permanently. This is particularly important to the Club as the Tottenham area is one of the most ethnically diverse in Europe.

The Let’s Kick Racism Out of Football campaign was started by the Commission for Racial Equality and the Professional Footballers’ Association in 1993. It is supported by all the game’s governing bodies, supporters’ organisations and local authorities, and works to challenge racism at all levels of the game. The initiative is also part of the wider Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) network. The aim of the campaign is to challenge and eradicate racism from all areas and at all levels of the game.

SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD

Show Racism the Red Card, part of the FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) network, is an anti-racist charity established in January 1996 with the aim of using Professional footballers as anti-racist role models.

Although racism is on the decline in professional football, it is unfortunately on the increase in British and European society. The aim of the campaign is to combat racism through anti-racist education, and professional footballers are showing the way in terms of making a stand and fighting racism.

The campaign has been able to involve hundreds of top footballers and managers, and has harnessed the high profile of these role models to combat racism.
